Then some dogs started barking from 3:00 AM on, then the people in the room next door started arguing on some misplaced documentation. The walls must be paper thin.
The hotel itself is very nice and the food wonderful. There was a large breakfast buffet spread and good strong coffee.
Arrived at the airport on schedule, we were web checked in and just had to drop off our luggage.
We are on a Jet Airways Flight To Khajuraho with one stop at Varanasi.
The flight was about 15-20 mins late to take off. It was an hour flight to Varanasi, the intermediate stop before proceeding to Khajuraho.
The airport building in Varanasi was quite small even though it is designated as an International Airport.
The stop was rather brief and the on going passengers were asked to remain on the plane.
The flight to Khajuraho from there was 30 mins and soon it was time to land.
The airport terminal is quite small but everything was orderly and our luggage came quickly.
We were met outside by Jagdish our guide for the duration and Kelash, our driver. Both appeared to be very nice and energetic.
Freshened up a bit and walked into the Temple Café to have kababs and coffee before heading out for sightseeing.
We were here 15 years back and some things have changed and some not so much.
Since we were pretty familiar with the area, we did the sightseeing on our own and got back to the hotel around 5:00 pm.
Rested, unpacked, then went back to the Temple Café for dinner. We shared a plate of excellent Rogan Josh. The food here is very good and quite inexpensive compared to Delhi. This coupled with complimentary wifi in all the rooms makes it a fabulous hotel in my eyes.
Ready to retire for the right at around 9:30 and hoping to get a good night's sleep.
